Diving in the area of Kiwengwa are two well equipped diving centres that organize daily excursions around the atoll of Mnemba.
The waters surrounding the atoll are rich in coral and largely inhabited by a variety of different species of fish such as manta rays, hawksbill, green turtles, snappers and barracudas.
From January to May wale sharks migrate through this part of the cost, it is hence not so unlikely to see one while heading towards Mnemba by boat.
Whales are also visible particularly between July and October.
Snorkellers may also join the boat excursions to Mnemba. The starting point for these excursions is at a walking distance from Mvuvi Resort.
