Persian Baths are located north west of Mkunazini Rd, close to St.Joseph’s cathedral.
The area is called Hamamni, “the place of the baths”, from the Arabic word “hammam..”
The construction of these baths was an order of the Sultan Barghash, designed by the architect Haji Culam Hussein who also designed the baths of Kidichi.
These were completed in the twenties and are now a museum. A small entry fee is required to visit the baths, open seven days a week.
