Unforgettable experiences fishing in Zanzibar
For those who are passionate about fishing and specifically of game fish, it is enough to know that the waters of the Indian Ocean around Zanzibar are densely populated by most predators numbered among the harmonisable fish for the world record in the list I.G.F.A (International Game Fish Association). The equatorial waters of Zanzibar have a seasonal pattern influenced by tides and especially by the presence of monsoons, which regulate the migration of fish and then the seasons of sport fishing in Zanzibar.
In particular, we can identify two seasons. The first, between May and September, is characterized by the southeast monsoon (Kusi), coming from the South Pole, which make this season the suitable period for fishing especially for the fabulous yellowfin tuna.
The opposite season, from October to April, is dry, regulated by the monsoon coming from Northeast (Kaskasi), with hot desert air and thus high temperatures even for the ocean waters. It is the period of the black, blue and striped marlin, as well as other rostrate fish such as sailfish. The high concentration of these predators makes possible the slam, the capture by the same angler - or the same boat - of three different types of rostrate fish in a day of fishing in Zanzibar.
During the year you can also fish different species of trevally and other large fish. The long list includes wahoo, dorado, GT (giant trevally), king fish, barracuda, rainbow runner, snapper, skipjack tuna, groupers and many types of sharks. A rich marine world, with acrobatic and colorful fish that make exciting the most competitive anglers and angling enthusiasts.
All this can be done directly on the beach of Kiwengwa, with a perfectly equipped charter boat for trolling with the company and the timely assistance of experienced local sailors.
